Our Mission
Our mission is to help people get started on their own backyard chicken families. We hope to create a website with all the useful information a beginner could need and make it easier to start even if you know nothing going into it. There are so many great benefits to owning and caring for your own chickens and we hope to share those as well and allow more people than ever to experience this with us. Kids of all ages and adults can get involved somehow in the process and it can be a great bonding and learning experience for parents and their children to do together. Not to mention, fresh eggs taste better and knowing where exactly they are coming from is better for both the environment and your peace of mind.
We hope that our website can act as a guide to you every step of the way from choosing a breed to building a chicken coop we cover it all! We also have a page of frequently asked questions, but if you don't find what you're looking for there, feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. About Us
We are a chicken loving family of four hoping to share our own positive experience raising backyard chickens. We got our first chickens almost seven years ago and we have been raising them ever since and always learning more along the way! This website is run by my husband and I and if you have any questions or just want to chat we would love to hear from you! We have two daughters ages 8 and 12 and while they don't help with the website, they do love to come outside everyday before and after school and help with the chickens! They have learned so much from helping to raise our little chicken family from egg all the way to hen and it has always been such a positive experience!
